ABSTRACT

The Covid-19 pandemic impacted Hospital Service Management, as well as the performance and role of leaders in the face of this new epidemic. The present study aimed to assess the prevalence of factors associated with the role of hospital managers' leadership before and during the Covid-19 pandemic. The databases SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online), Google Scholar, classic books on Hospital Management and the CAPES Portal were employed in a search for articles that evaluated Hospital Management and the performance of the leadership, before and during the current pandemic moment. The pandemic evidenced a global crisis, requiring a transformation in the structure and work process of health units, highlighting the need for good planning to face this epidemic. The research highlights the fundamental role of leadership in management for obtaining good results: the hospital administrator must be assertive in making decisions and have good internal and external communication. It is concluded that, beyond the routine actions, it is necessary to have specialized training, innovative vision and willingness to face potential challenges and abrupt adaptations, in the face of epidemic and pandemic episodes.

ABSTRACT

In the hospital context, professionals need continuous updating and training. Nevertheless, high adherence by employees to improvement activities is not always achieved. The situation is aggravated in a pandemic context such as that experienced in 2020 in Brazil (and in the world) with COVID19, since the demands of professionals grow, and they are subjected to additional stress with the significant increase in hospitalizations and deaths. In addition, to avoid crowding, training activities now require environments with less concentration of people, instead of the traditional lectures in crowded auditoriums. Starting from bibliographic research and observations associated with the use of active methodologies in the field of Health, this work aims to present proposals for the application of such methodologies in the pandemic scenario, planning a diversified training structure suitable for the different sectors of a reference hospital in Vale do Paraiba (SP) to improve communication, knowledge, interaction and skill of the teams. In the context of COVID19, the advantages of active methodologies are evident, highlighting the greater involvement of professionals in training, with systemic interaction increasing the engagement of professionals. This more effective interaction among the areas and the expansion of the training of professionals enhances the improvement in the quality of care. Professional involvement also tends to reduce staff turnover and costs.

ABSTRACT

Despite being a traditional poetic form, of oriental and literally millennial origin, haiku has gradually acquired new forms after it arrived in Brazil, about a century ago. Among several Brazilian writers, the role of the writer Minor Fernandes can be highlighted in the process of development of a "Brazilian way" of composing haiku, including generous and often simultaneous doses of good humor and criticism. In 2020, with the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic and under a federal government heavily criticized for its performance in the areas of Health and Education, two university professors from the region of Vale do Paraiba decided to register the day-to-day life of the pandemic in Brazil by haiku, inaugurating a project informally named "Haikaus", in progress since March 2021. In this work, we discuss the characteristics and potentialities of this form of recording at a single chronic and critical time of the recent history of our country, presenting for this a sample of the haikais produced in this context, accompanied by evaluation of the themes addressed, with the construction of a cloud of words to facilitate visual analysis.
